Sunday's Selection

Liberal or conservative? Not talking politics here, just wondering, and don't answer if you don't want to (Okay SA you go first j/k) Do you consider yourself a liberal Christian or a conservative christian? Okay I will start. When I first went to CBC 21 years ago (WOW Mel, you were not even born then, okay just barely) I would have definitely thought of myself as conservative. Sometimes I think as new Christians who are not taught/discipled well from the start we can be a very arrogant sort. Now the pendulum has swung the other way and I find myself more of the liberal Christian. So what changed. Obviously not God! So did I really change that much, or has God shown me to show more love and grace to others. Not quite ready to get into some of the major issue discussions just yet on the areas that changed, someday perhaps. Just wondering if anyone else has had the flip flop experience from LC to CC or vise versa, or maybe you are the same in your views as you were when you were "ungrownup". Oh yeah I forgot you are not grown up yet, to which I reply hmmm hmmm hmmmmm. You know you are grown up when "Your secrets are safe with your friends because they can't remember them either". Oh, did I tell you that secret. Nope, cause I forgot. That's what happens when you get old.

Okay it is get to know Mike week...little known facts about me. (Remember them in case I put another quiz on the board - of course if you are over 40 you will forget anyway). Here goes. When my toast pops, get out of the way. I need to butter it before it gets cold!!! I bet you are fascinated now :):):)

amanda, what do you say you and i bring some water balloons to the first ever blog BBQ? me thinks someone needs a bit of playful revenge, eh?
As for liberal or conservative. i have no idea. i don't know what i was then, and i have no idea what i am now.
and as for 21 years ago, i think i was just barely born then too!

bit of trivial about mike.. all i can say, is i am not quite as jumpy as that about my toast, but i don't like it cold or cooled off either, and i don't use butter if i am using peanut butter, and i don't like anyone touching my food with bare hands in restaurants, and i make a deadly mocha for breakfast to go with my toast, and ....

Since Mike has forgone the riddle, here is a joke, just for him.
3 little alzheimers living in a house. first one goes upstairs, runs a bath, gets undressed, then says "hhhmmmm, was i getting into the tub or out?". second little alzheimer laughs and figures he'd better go help. Half way up the stairs, he stops to catch his breath and says, "hhmmm, was i going up the stairs or down?". 3rd little alzheimer laughs and says, "boy, am i glad i am not as crazy as those 2, knock on wood, (knock, knock, knock).. hey, was that the front door or the back?".... hehehehehe you figure out which one you are!!!

No balloons allowed at the BBQ,at least none with water in them. As for barely born, ummm, hmmm, hmmm, ummm, Yeah thats it ummhmmummhmm
Okay be politically correct here (liberal or conservative) hmmm, Maybe it was too long ago for you to remember, I am sure that is what you mean :)

Being at the BBQ is not the same as a restaurant, so I guess we can all touch your food there ;)

I will take Alzheimers door number 4 :)~ Now what were we talking about.

oh yah, who decided who could make the official first bloggers bbq rules of no balloons?

I think it was decided at the last board meeting about the official rule maker (which is me), next time you will have to show up if you want to run for office :)

Conservative = legalistic, not much room for grace.

Liberal = Everything is permissible (well just about)

Those are just my definitions, and since I am the rules official....;)

i vote for water balloons!!!

as for the toast - get out of my way - i want my toast hot so that the butter can melt on it! if i have peanut butter i like put butter on it first.

as for liberal vs conservative - up until the last 2 years i would definitely have been labled conservative - i would have to say that i'm probably in the middle of the road right now leaning towards the liberal - i don't think i could ever be a total liberal but i'm more careful about judging now.

off to church - talk to you later.

hahahah.. Mike, you might be the official rule maker, amanda and i will be the official rule breakers!

I think i am middle of the road on most things, maybe legal on some things (like don't beat your wife and kids), and liberal on some things.

Rule number one is you can't break the rules unless the rules official okays it. Sorry you voted me in :)~ Thats what happens when you vote in a combination of liberal/conservative/NDP/communist leadership.

Yeah, in some ways I am also C/L, mostly L. Hmmmm

Did I mention How SA is looking forward to the BBQ next week???
Sure is a nice day out there. Nice enough out for MW!!!!! Supposed to hit 23 today!

mike, really, like really, did you have to rub it in? 23? MW? I don't know, but doesn't seem to me that the official rule maker, in danger of a ballooning, would be so brazen to flaunt your ability to go to MW whenever you want.

Okay, I stirred the pot too much and ice cream almost turned sour :)
Y'all feel free to let me know if I stir your pot too much.

This day is just the ultimate day for Milky Way - sounds like it might be a good reward for going to a church information meeting tonight!

Think of it this way you probably aren't geting a sun burn today - which I might have done this afternoon. Seeing definite lines on my shoulders.

So does that mean you want to meet there after the meeting is over? Sounds good to us.
