Sunday Source

Okay I don't want you to feel bad about not showing up lat night so I won't. I had the triple tornado ice cream...what else would I have. It had all my fruits in it like strawberry and banana and something else...maybe blueberry. Oh did I tell you we had a good visit at Milky way last night OOPS ;) So what did everyone else do last night. Please don't tell me you have a life!!! I discovered last night that we have something in common with Su-ann, which is really neat, hmmm I think...we go to the same church. Who knew? Hmmm a blog church...I think it would catch on...we could meet for services or ice cream once a week, talk about what is happening in our lives, of couorse we could only accept so many members, we don't want things to get too crowded. Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's out there, and Happy Happy to all those who may not be Mom's but should still be recognized for what they do. What are all your plans? Going to a crowded restaurant? A movie? Church? Breakfast in bed? We are going to do the restaurant thing but not till tomorrow.

Okay lets have some deep discussion. Well.......that's pretty deep ;)~

Never did get to do my homework on hell (and NO I'm not gonna visit to get a birds eye view either). So today will hopefully be the day.

What to you is the most important thing in the Christian life? There are many things to choose from....spending time with God, prayer (this can be different than the last one), love, service, church (ok you know I didn't pick this one), helping others. There are many other things that can go on this list...maybe yours is one of them.

Okay Su-ann wanted an easy riddle...so if you guess it right away it is not my fault this time :) . How many letters are in the alphabet?

Okay who commented then took it away:) Well as they say in Staples commercials "That was easy"...for the riddle of the day you got the correct answer...or should I say correct answers.

Finally did some homework on hell this morning, so will work on it for tomorrows blog. Interesting view re: hell hmmm, hmmm hmmm

How about the name for the church as Mike's mind...okay okay maybe not...How about the Blogging baptists or Alliance Accord (I am sure you know by now I like double titles AA, BB, etc).

So is it a matter of they love God but not the church?

Not sure what you mean by saying "...they love God but not the church".

glad you had a good time at milky way - next time hope to join you - or maybe you had such a good time that you don't want anyone else to join you next time.

i believe that relationship with God is probably the most important - i also believe that all the other things like love and service etc will automatically come if that relationship with God is real and a priority.

as for hell - i believe there is a hell - and i also believe that i really don't know what it is. but i was reading the other day somewhere in Eph i think about hell being a kingdom in the air - i always look down when i think about hell. oh well, i guess it doesn't matter where it is, just as long as i don't end up there. i really liked Su-Ann's thoughts on what hell might be.

look forward to your perspective Mike.

keep pot stiring - i think we all can be dangerously complacent.

the most important thing to me is loving God with all my heart and all my soul ... i feel confident in this too as this is what He says is the greatest thing. i think all else will automatically fall into place. the should's and should not's become not all that important because what is important is loving God with all of one's heart. that in itself takes care of the should's and should nots.

as for hell, yes there is definately a hell. there is definately a heaven. are they what we envision? not sure ... i think sometimes the speech used is figurative speech to get the point across. for example when we say we are broken hearted our hearts are still pumping, they are not broken, but we are emotionally hurt. i think the description of hell is like that. eternal separation from God will cause weeping and 'gnashing of teeth' in that we will be heart sick. hell to me is eternity separated from the lover of one's soul. that is a place i do not want to be. since before i knew him i have been desperate for him and still am all these years later. for me, it is a simple albeit delightful walk loving God.in light of eternity, everything else pales in comparison.

I believe the most important thing is loving God and loving others, and everything else will follow (though not perfectly). 1Corinthians 13 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=i%20cor%2013;&version=31; says a lot about love...even greater than faith and hope.

As for ice cream, that is one of my weaknessess...superman had kryptonite, Mike's is ice cream, and chocolate and Lays© salt n vinegar chips. When ever it works we can try again and invite the others in the congregation ;)
