What to you are some of the important things you look for in a friend or in a friendship. (If you don't feel comfortable blogging it here, email it to each other).
Here are some quotes on friendship that I think apply when I think of what friends mean to me.
"Friends are the siblings we never had".
"You'll always be my best friend, you know too much!"
"When it hurts to look back and your scared to look ahead you can look beside you and your best friend will be there."
Best Friends Listen to what you dont say.
"People never know how special someone is until they leave, but maybe sometimes its important to leave, so they are given that chance to see how special that someone really is!"

Well said. Yep that answers my question. Nice little sermon there. I did guess LL as one of your 2 heart friends, and I guessed AG as the other.
There are certainly varying degrees of friends tha we have like you said. For me, friendship (very good friends) is having that someone who needs you and you need them, whether it is in a time of crisis, a time of joy or just a time to hang out. They are there for you when you need them, and even when you don't. To me the heart friend would be someone I can share everything with (including the area(s) behind the mask).
i agree with both of you and would add - that a friend challenges me to be the best person i can be, doesn't allow me to make excuses when i'm not, and encourages me to come up with my own answers about my faith and beliefs.
i am so blessed to have found my very best friend in my husband and have one other best friend who i can share my heart with.
so another question where does God fit in our list of friends - i know where He should fit but is He there?
I guess to answer the where does God fit question...I think it depends on our relationship with Him. Some have a relationship with Him like some people do with their best friends. I am not there at this time. I do believe I will get there, I think I have come even a step closer in the last 7 weeks since I started blogging.

thanks for your honesty! i can't say i'm there yet either, but i can say i'm even closer than i sometimes thought i would be. the more you guys challenge me to dig - the closer i'm getting!

I think the feeling is mutual. I can speak for Su-ann here (hmmm) she will let me know otherwise. I think we have all grown closer to God in these past few weeks, so how cool is that.
